Cassandra’s Children seeks to help people navigate these difficult times with a three-pronged approach of facilitating mutual aid and direct assistance, providing useful information on how to survive & thrive during economic downturns, & promoting non-violent individual activism as part of a collective whole.
Our Purpose
Cassandra's Children offers Mutual aid to those in need, and educational resources for those seeking to enhance food security and other knowledge on how to keep their households safe and healthy during tumultuous times. We will also provide an accessible way to discover and promote community activism for individuals, as we act as part of a collective whole.
We will provide a safe and inclusive atmosphere centering Progressive ideals, and we will continue to seek solutions to current events as they impact us locally, regionally, or Nationally.
Our Goals
∙ Curate the Cassandra's Children website to contain free-to-use-and-distribute information and educational materials to anyone with internet access. Information provided will range from pantry stocking, to how to begin and maintain a home/patio garden, to home arts, to (ultimately) providing K-12 syllabi for homeschoolers that will focus on reading & mathematical literacy, historical multiperspectivity (with a focus on marginalized voices), critical thinking, and the arts; all taught through the lens of a Progressive worldview
∙ Set our giving guidelines and policies on how best to disburse funds to individuals requiring financial or other mutual assistance
∙ Begin raising funds to help provide those grant services
∙ Collate a set of resources to share where people can find local or regional assistance for their or their neighbor's needs, or to take political action
∙ Provide a safe, inclusive community where people can come together to learn, share, find solidarity, and have fun--because joy is an act of resistance
